Dun Laoghaire Counselling & Psychotherapy
Providing a professional and safe environment for people experiencing difficulties in their lives
Dun Laoghaire Counselling & Psychotherapy is a safe, non- judgemental service that is humanistic / client centred in its outlook, believing in the inherent worth and value of each person. I am very aware of the difficulty experienced by individuals in every day lives and do assist with this my approach is to integrate a variety of theoretical approaches, combining those that are most appropriate to the clients’ presenting issues and stated preferences.
In the treatment of certain issues such as Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Panic Attacks, the theoretical approach used will be mainly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as it is seen to be the most effective treatment for such conditions.

I have lost a love one and I don’t know how I will cope…
Counselling or Psychotherapy?
At Dun Laoghaire Counselling & Psychotherapy I offer clients both Counselling and Psychotherapy services, while the words Psychotherapy and Counselling can often be used interchangeably, I believe there is a distinct difference…
Coping with the challenges and stresses of modern living may present problems for the individual. These difficulties can manifest themselves in a variety of symptoms e.g. depression or anxiety. Counselling tends to be a short term exploration of current personal difficulties. Psychotherapy is a more long term process which enables people to understand the deeper roots of their present difficulties.
